Last year I was so excited to implement the elf on the shelf in our house. Berkley watched the movie approximately 8021347 times in one month and named her elf Trixie. She got so much joy out of finding Trixie every morning that it was pretty much worth all the late nights of realizing I’d forgotten to move her after I was nicely tucked into bed (9 months pregnant).
This year I am going into this better prepared. I made this handy little elf planning calendar so that I can HOPEFULLY be more prepared for her nightly moves.
Last year Trixie arrived with powdered donuts and chocolate milk from the north pole along with a copy of the elf on the shelf movie. I’m sure that she’ll do the same this year. Luckily Harrison isn’t old enough to understand so we’re sticking with another year as a one elf household but likely adding a ‘magic glove’ so Trixie can be moved by a grown up and out of the reach of the baby. 😉
A few other elf ideas we’re reusing from last year:
- Trixie brought us cookie mix and sprinkles for a day of cookie making
- Trxie went on a boat ride in our tupperware in the sink! (B thought this was HILARIOUS!)
- Trixie brought us our Christmas Eve box as her farewell. Jammies, a movie and snacks were a huge hit!
What are some of your favorite Elf on the Shelf activities? I’m hoping to get an early start on my calendar so I can focus on black friday shopping!
